Whitewater rafting is a great activity for the whole family to enjoy. You can even share this experience with your close friends. Rafting is most commonly done on whitewater rivers and other types of rough bodies of water so that you, your family, and your friends get to feel all of the thrill and excitement that you expect. Doing this sport became considered a recreational activity in the mid 1970s. Since then, it has become more common for people to take part in this sport, and it has changed much since then.
When we say energy saving hour it doesn’t only mean that we are only saving energy. We are also saving water. The most common source of energy comes from hydropower. Since water is a common source of our energy it means if we don’t have enough supply of water we have less supply of electricity too. With this fact, it’s telling us that we need to conserve water as possible. Examples would be fixing our water line that have leaks or damaged or minimizing our shower time. If it takes about 10 minutes to take a shower then you can minimize it to 5 minutes if it’s okay with you. Through this you are conserving a lot of water.
Wood is a renewable source, however you need to be careful what type of wood you choose. Hard wood tress such as oak take a very long time to grow and do not grow again once they have been cut down. This makes these types of wood inappropriate to use because it is unsustainable. Pine on the other hand is fast growing and makes a good, durable wood. Pine is very much sustainable. Another type of wood that is catching on around the world is that from bamboo. This doesn’t’ take very long to grow and keeps growing even once cut down. One plant can keep on producing wood for decades. Because there is just a couple of years needed for bamboo to grow to a good size it offers total sustainability. Bamboo flooring is extremely durable and hard wearing too and requires little maintenance.
The next frontier is Water Turbines. These are similar to wind turbines and are placed in the water currents. The current spins the turbine to produce electricity. This technology dates back to the Romans. Nova Scotia has a turbine producing 20 MW since 1984. La Rance barrage in Normandy puts out 240 MW and was installed in 1966. In 2007 New York City tried installing turbines in the Hudson river. The current was so strong it was snapping the 20 foot blades. In 2010 using what they have learned a new project is under way to install 30 underwater turbines in the East river between Queens and Roosevelt Island. The completion will be sometime in if all goes according power to schedule.
Accepting and enjoying the small pleasure of life is an art which we can all develop. The beauty of a sunrise, the first spring flowers, the music that enfolds us, the pleasure of a well cooked meal shared with people we care about. All these are daily things which we can take pleasure from. A sustainable lifestyle is about recognizing what is of value.
Spend some time recalling the things that brought you together and what you used to love about each other. Spend time together doing things that you both love to do. Needless to say, quit spending time chewing on the things that irritate you; put up or shut up!

Clean Edge also estimates that wind power will expand from $51.4 billion in 2008 to $139.1 billion in 2018, and solar power will grow from $29.6 billion in 2008 to $80.6 billion in 2018.
So when adding to the list of industries that Arnprior is known for, their pizza industry should not be left out by any means. This community has taken a food that everyone loves and made it into something so much more. It is a social gathering, it is family time, it is a fun trip for a father and son to the pizza shop to pick it up, and it is lunch for hard workers. Basically, it is everything happiness is made of.
