As a result of this progress, the United Nations has also established a Democracy Cohort for women. The group will be focused on advancing women’s empowerment in politics. The Democracy Cohort will be working closely with women leaders to support them in implementing reforms and evaluating the progress they have made towards achieving their commitments. This cohort has been endorsed by the United Nations. They will continue to collaborate closely throughout the Summit for Democracy’s Year of Action.
